Buttery, melt-in-your-mouth balls coated in powdered sugar, made with simple ingredients for easy baking.
# What You'll Need:
→ Dry Ingredients
01 - 2 cups all-purpose flour
02 - 1/4 teaspoon salt
→ Butter & Sugar
03 - 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
04 - 1/2 cup powdered sugar, plus extra for coating
05 - 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
→ Nuts (optional)
06 - 3/4 cup finely chopped walnuts or pecans
# How to Make It:
01 - Preheat the oven to 350°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
02 - In a large bowl, beat softened butter and 1/2 cup powdered sugar until light and fluffy. Add vanilla extract and mix until combined.
03 - Add flour and salt to the butter mixture and stir until just combined. Fold in chopped nuts if using. The dough will be crumbly but should hold together when pressed.
04 - Scoop tablespoon-sized portions of dough and roll into balls. Arrange balls at least 1 inch apart on the prepared baking sheet.
05 - Bake for 13 to 15 minutes, until the bottoms are lightly golden but the tops remain pale.
06 - Let cookies cool for 5 minutes, then gently roll in powdered sugar while warm. Cool completely on a wire rack, then roll again in powdered sugar for a snowy finish.
