# Additional Tips::

01 -
  • It's the perfect excuse to taste-test chocolate chips under the guise of quality control.
  • You can make it exactly how you like it without compromise, no mysterious ingredients hidden in the bag.
  • It keeps for two weeks, which means you're basically meal-prepping without the guilt.
02 -
  • The chocolate chips will soften if your kitchen is warm or if you store them in direct sunlight—keep everything in a cool, dry place or use melting-point-controlled chips.
  • Mixing by hand instead of with utensils gives you better control and lets you catch any chocolate chips threatening to break apart.
  • Dried fruit has a longer shelf life than nuts, so if you're making this weeks in advance, store the components separately and mix just before serving.
03 -
  • Buy nuts and seeds in bulk during season (fall and winter for many nuts) when prices dip and quality is highest—you can freeze what you don't use immediately.
  • If your chocolate chips are melting, store your finished mix in the refrigerator rather than the pantry and it'll stay perfectly crisp.
