# How to Make It:

01 - Preheat oven to 375°F. Grease a 9x13-inch casserole dish.
02 - Cook ground beef in a large skillet over medium-high heat until browned. Drain excess fat if necessary.
03 - Add diced onion, bell pepper, and garlic to the skillet. Sauté for 3 to 4 minutes until softened.
04 - Stir in chili powder, cumin, smoked paprika, oregano, salt, and black pepper. Cook for 1 minute until fragrant.
05 - Add uncooked rice, diced tomatoes with juice, tomato sauce, and beef broth. Mix thoroughly.
06 - Fold in drained black beans and 1 cup of shredded cheddar cheese.
07 - Spread the mixture evenly into the prepared casserole dish.
08 - Cover dish tightly with foil and bake for 30 minutes.
09 - Remove foil, sprinkle remaining 1/2 cup cheddar on top, and bake uncovered for 10 more minutes until cheese melts and rice is tender.
10 - Allow casserole to rest for 5 minutes. Garnish with cilantro, jalapeños, and sour cream as desired.
