Spiced Nuts Mix (Print Version)

A crunchy blend of sweet and spicy nuts roasted to golden perfection with honey and spices.

# What You'll Need:

→ Nuts

01 - 1 cup raw almonds
02 - 1 cup raw cashews
03 - 1 cup raw pecans
04 - 1 cup raw walnuts

→ Seasoning & Sweetener

05 - 3 tablespoons honey
06 - 2 tablespoons olive oil or melted butter
07 - 1 teaspoon ground cumin
08 - 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
09 - 0.5 teaspoon ground cinnamon
10 - 0.5 teaspoon cayenne pepper, adjust to taste
11 - 1 teaspoon sea salt
12 - 0.5 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper

# How to Make It:

01 - Set the oven to 350°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
02 - In a large mixing bowl, blend honey with olive oil or melted butter. Stir in ground cumin, smoked paprika, cinnamon, cayenne pepper, sea salt, and black pepper until evenly combined.
03 - Add almonds, cashews, pecans, and walnuts to the bowl and toss thoroughly to ensure all nuts are coated with the seasoned honey mixture.
04 - Spread the coated nuts evenly in a single layer across the prepared baking sheet.
05 - Place the baking sheet in the oven and roast nuts for 18 to 20 minutes, stirring once halfway through. Monitor closely to prevent burning.
06 - Remove nuts from the oven and allow to cool completely on the baking sheet; the nuts will crisp as they cool. Break any clusters apart and store in an airtight container.

# Additional Tips::

01 -
  • It tastes like you spent hours in the kitchen when it's genuinely only 30 minutes from start to snacking.
  • The sweet-and-spicy balance keeps you reaching for just one more handful, then another.
  • People always ask for the recipe, and it feels like sharing something genuinely yours.
02 -
  • Stir your nuts halfway through roasting—this is the difference between golden perfection and a batch where half are burnt and half are pale.
  • Don't skip the cooling step on the baking sheet; the residual heat is what creates that perfect crunch, and moving them too early makes them stick together.
03 -
  • Buy your nuts raw if possible—pre-roasted nuts will burn before they caramelize, and that changes everything about the final result.
  • If you like heat, add your cayenne in two stages: some with the initial mix and a little more halfway through roasting, so you can taste as you go and find your perfect level.
